A free, drop-in outdoor story hour for all ages at the Ijams Nature Playscape, Grayson Subaru Preserve at Mead's Quarry, 3518 Island Home Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920. Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon on October 17, October 24, November 7, November 21 and December 5, 2026. The format alternates week to week between a guided storytelling session and open nature play, so there is no need to catch the series from the start and nothing to register for — just show up. Admission is free; parking is $5 per vehicle and free for Ijams members. It is entirely outdoors in the woods, so dress for the weather and bring a blanket or camp chair and a snack.
