A free Halloween morning built for families at the East Tennessee History Center, 601 S. Gay Street, Knoxville, TN 37902, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids trick-or-treat their way through the auditorium and the Voices of the Land exhibit, where volunteer-led stations cover jack-o'-lanterns, broom making, granny witches and Victorian mourning customs. Add Halloween crafts, games, story time and a third-floor scavenger hunt in the McClung Collection with a treat for finishers. Costumes are encouraged — there is no costume contest this year. Museum admission is free through February 14, 2027. Heads up: some trick-or-treat stations have food and herbs out to touch and smell, so email the museum ahead about allergies. Downtown garages are free on weekends. More info: https://www.easttnhistory.org/event/monsters-at-the-museum-2/
